My printer doesn’t work when i print to it from my laptop when the printer is connected to my desktop?
1. Make sure it is properly shared on the desktop computer, and that the computer and printer are both on. Also make note of the share name.
2. On your laptop, go to Start - > printers and faxes - > click add a printer, click next, make sure the “a network printer or printer attached to another computer” is selected, click next, then click “find a printer in the directory”, and click ok, and see if it finds the share name you made note of above.
3. If you do not see it, I would make sure the computers are on the same workgroup / domain, and that the printer is properly shared.
